What is the gold rush history of Reedy creek?

Gold was discovered in Reedy Creek, Victoria in 1852, and the area became a busy gold mining town.  Mining peaked in 1864 when there was a large gold rush to a tributary called Nuggetty Gully. In total, about 400 miners arrived for the gold rush. They settled along the creek and constructed water races for sluicing. The gold rush along Reedy Creek increased in 1866 when 300 Chinese gold miners arrived. The Chinese miners constructed stores and many huts along the creek. By 1868, most of the Chinese miners had deserted Reedy Creek, along with the original gold rush miners.
